You get your Buy Now button code from your shopping cart, after creating a product. To insert the code, you follow these steps:
- Select the code provided by your shopping cart
- Copy the code to the Clipboard
- Chick the HTML tab in your WordPress page or post (a sales page is usually a page, not a post)
- Find the desired location
- Paste the code

In the code, look for a section that says src= and then has a long URL that ends in .png, .jpg, or .gif That's the location of the button. (I store it on Amazon's S3 storage service rather than on my own website, but you can store it on your website using the Media feature of WordPress, as I describe above.)
That link goes to your shopping cart's default Buy Now button. If you want to use your own button, replace the URL in that code with the location of your own button.

You can resize an image directly in WordPress by selecting it and dragging a corner handle inward or outward. But when the image is part of code, you usually have to use a different method.
The easiest method is to resize the image before you upload it. You may not realize that it's too big or too small until you see it on your sales page, but you can always upload it again.
Just use your operating system's default image editing program to resize it. To make sure that you don't distort the image, use a percentage to resize, rather than specifying the height and width individually. I use the Microsoft Office Picture Manager, which comes with Microsoft Office. You can also find free online picture editors that can resize your image.
